Hello everyone

Here's the 2 lovely cards we made at our
August Fun night here in Kilcoole

The 1st one is an all white card
For a Wedding
Using embossing folders
and a lovely sizzix open heart die
we added some feathers leaves and a large paper rose with some beaded pins for detail

The 2nd one is for an Anniversary
and I  chose the Blue Danube
for the theme
using a lovely vintage image of a couple waltzing

We did a shabby chic style for this card
tearing the backing layers for a shabby effect
and finished the card with paper roses and leaves.

thanks to everyone for coming
Aiveen, Anne L, Barbara, Anne R, Roberta, Margaret, Liz, Anne Rowe, and our new member Dolores,

thanks for a great night girls

Aug 25, 2015

Hello everyone
What a wet and miserable day/week it's been
the kids go back to school on Thursday,
and I bet the sun will arrive, just as they start back.

Few cards to share today

We have our fun night tonight and Clare requested an all white card
and Delores requested a vintage card for a lady, so will share tomorrow what they all make.

My Computer has been playing up, and need to go back to Dell for repairs,
which will take about 12 days,
So might not post much until I get it back,

Happy Crafting

August DT Challenge
for Craft for the Craic
Theme,Inspiration from a photo.

this is the photo I choose
it a photo of my back garden
planted with all my favourite flowers
Lavender, Alchemilla Mollis, Sweet William, Peony roses, Delphinium, Lupins, Geranium  and so many more.
but my favourite and always has been is the poppy, it only lasts a few days, and this year the rain destroyed it, so there all cut back, but coming up again, so I may get a second bloom later in the year,
I pick up the colours from my photo for this card,
and chose the poppy as the theme
as you know the poppy is the flower of remembrance.
so made my card a "Thinking of you" card.

close up of the handmade poppy flowers
you can find a tutorial HERE

I wrote the poem below to go inside

Happiness is a garden planted
with many flowers.
Some small and insignificant
Some sweet with their perfume
But the poppy for me
Outshines the rest
In remembrance of a dear loved one.

August DT Challenge for
Dragons Lair
Theme, 3 of a kind

For this months Design Challenge
we had to add 3 of a kind, So I went for 3 of the shaped pansy cards and used the tucked in behind the Fold, and added a different colour pansy to each tag.

I used a selection of Lace, Mesh and Doilies to layer behind the fold, and raised the 3 tags.
I cut a selection of pansies to add a decoupage boarder to the fold, and added some ribbon detail.
The background paper is from the pansy a4 background collection  HERE

The 3 tags are from the pansy shaped cards HERE

I used the beautiful pansy boarder to add some detail to the insert
and found this lovely Poem by my lovely crafty friend
Janyce Cotterill

Pretty Pansies
For the eye to behold
A delight in the garden
With flowers so bold
No matter the season
They Cheer all year through
And there here on this card
With special wishes for you.

Some Simple Handmade cards with pretty matching gift tags

This Cards shows you how quick it is to make a card when you have toppers ready.
I have taking the tag from the set above and place it on a Background.
I love making tags from the scraps left over at the end of a card making session.
and turning them into mini little works of art.

Perfect for a wine lover or a thank you to a host for a dinner party,

We will be making a selection of the tags and toppers next week at my class on Saturday the 8th.
but we will be adding a lot more to the designs, to create extra special tags, as keepsakes.
along with toppers. turning them into cards at the end of the day.

Simply Delicious Christmas card with recipes

Quiet a few ladies liked this card on FaceBook
 which I made October 2012
So said I would share it again.

Christmas Simply Delicious
The main image is a Vintage Christmas image from HERE

The Recipes and food clip art are from Printable Heaven, HERE

It's a simple C5 landscape
Using a cream patterned background on a burgundy layer
I added a strip of Burgundy ribbon and overlayer so pretty cream cotton lace,
I use the lovely image of the little girl baking. which I matted and layered onto cream, burgundy and gold card allowing a 1/2 cm border each layer.
Stuck some gathered lace behind the image,
and stuck it the the right hand side of the card

I Cut out a selection of the recipe ingredient card
and the matching topper.
and layered them with foam pads for dimension.

I made a Pocket to store the recipe cards in for the back of the card

Hope you enjoy having a go, at making it yourself.

I will have a look through some old instructions and add a few more during the week

Last nights makes from the fun night
We made our own handmade flowers from a selection of materials
Mesh, Spider web fabric, Non woven fabric, and lace scraps
Added some die cut leaves and ribbon.
In pinks and blue

Pink flower

When the girls left, there was lots of scraps left,
so ended up making a few more.

Some cards to share today
that I made last week
Lovely teddybear image decoupage
on a patchwork background
With Ribbon, Ric-rac and button detail

This image was but out and then stuck to card,
and cut again to make it stronger.
I added the organza shawl and ribbon under the chin,
and secured it at the back,
and then raised it on the original image.
and added the selection of miniature paper roses to the hat.
