Friday Challenge Entries

I am delighted to get the first entry for my first
Friday Challenge
I have never done a poll before,
so hopefully it works
and everyone who views takes the time to vote.

You still have time to send me your entries please email them HERE as closing date is Friday the 30th at 6.00pm
I will announce the winner on the 7th of July when the vote closes.
Good luck everyone.

Card  1. Aileen Mc Kenna

In this card I have incorporated everything I love about card-making! I really like easel cards, cards with an acetate aperture, (this time to encase my shell!) a soft touch with ribbon as the ‘capaill bána’ (white horses) wave effect. The embellishments - shells strung on to beads, as well as the jumping dolphins add to my beach / sea theme. I was delighted to find peel offs in the shape of shells and an anchor, as well as wavy blue peel offs to add to the silver mirri card to give the effect of water reflection.
Sources: payperbox, docrafts, diy crafts, my stash and of course my shell from the beach!
I wish everyone a relaxing, enjoyable summer.  Hopefully we will meet up at one of Yvonne’s workshops / fun days in the near future!
Best regards,
Aileen
Card 2. Pat Walsh

Hi Yvonne here is my entry for your first friday challenge I used the Concertina Gate card ,Card I brought from Marian in Kilkenny, photos some taken by me others downloaded from the net looking out of my window on a wet and windy day thinking of the great summer in 2007 in u.s.a. many thanks Pat Walsh

Card 3 Kay Roche
SUMMER"S HERE
I love this style of card and I chose this theme because it reminded me of my childhood spent at the beach.
I used the sandy colour paper to represent sunshine on sand.
The sea image and decoupaged ice cream topper are from Hunkydory.
The beach huts are taken from this months free papers from the Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine.
I made the Kite from scraps and the sandy card and gold mirri card are from my stash.
The peel off butterfly is from the Papermania gemstone collection.
I really enjoyed making this card and the memories it brought back.
Kay

Anne

Lazy summer days sitting in the garden smelling the beutiful flowers, my flower is made from scraps from my dressmaking days and cut on the big shot and my blue flower is crochet with scraps of wool. Listening to the buzz buzz from my knitted bee again scraps from my domesticated days. My little ladbird is crochet with 2 tiny seed beeds for eyes. I add a bit of fancy wool a few buttons candy dots and the bees wings are made from tulle. Hope you like it maybe bit childlike but its my child within that creates my cards.

Card 6 Shirley Power
Here's a Summer Card I designed for one of the workshops I done at Marions shop.
It's made using a backing paper and embellishments from the Faye Whittaker CD by Joanna Sheen and a marianne creatable die of a ship. The circle is made using two of the large circle spellbinders die cuts. All the card was purchased at Crafty Bride in Kilkenny. Regards, Shirley

Card 7 Kathleen Murtagh
The centre is an accordion base placed on an easel card. Decorated with summer flowers purchased from Wild Orchid Crafts and finished with peel offs and a lilac ribbon.

Card 8 Phil Curran

I have taken these images from the Joanna Sheen ‘Faye whittaker Collection,
Which I have fallen in love with.  I used 2 sheets of 300g card and cut at 17cm in height x 29.8cm.
I scored both the same, that is at 12cm for the front and after 12cm, I then scored 1 ½ cm seven times.
I then turned one the other way around and stuck them together at the back making sure that the back measured 12cm so that the front, the middle and the back each measure 12cm.
I then cut the same image from the CD but cut away an extra part and stuck to the accordion folds
